Ms Veronica Nakijoba is a Social Development /Gender Specialist. She has taught at the School of Women and Gender Studies (SWGS), Makerere University and is currently a PhD Fellow at the same University. She is investigating Gender Based Violence in Natural Disaster Situations for her PhD research. She has extensive knowledge and experience in the area of Gender and Human Rights, Education, Child Rights and Development, and Gender and Displacement (conflict and natural disasters). She has done several research projects on women’s rights in Humanitarian Emergencies. She is a feminist activist and has been actively involved in advocacy coalitions for enactment of gender responsive legislation in Uganda such as the Domestic Violence Bill coalition, Marriage and Divorce Bill and Girl Child Education.
