REFUGEES ACROSS SPACE

Opportunities for interaction between refugees and host communities are limited, especially since refugee communities are usually separated from the rest. Out of this situation emerges the suspicion of the ”unknown other” contributing to tensions between refugees and host communities. Refugees have limited agency to change this situation.
With this project, our aim is to contribute to ‘’breaking the isolation of refugees and stimulating integration mechanisms in their surroundings and societies through culture’’.
THE FOUR PROJECT ACTION AREAS
Collaborations
Refugee artists and budding talents receive performance training; tapping into their traditional cultural expressions and those of their host community. We aim to foster cross-cultural engagement and encourage collaboration between refugees and host communities.
Access to cultural and artistic platforms
We contribute to the development of institutionalized channels through which refugees can access platforms in the creative economy of their host nations where they showcase, share their stories, interact with members of their host community, receive training and build networks outside camps and settlements.
